Safe, fast and connected: how ICNT Groep made Winkelcentrum Walburg future-proof
Winkelcentrum Walburg is a trusted meeting place for visitors and an important retail location for the affiliated shopkeepers. To keep fulfilling that role, the technical infrastructure of the shopping centre had to take a major step forward. ICNT Groep was asked to realise this renewal step by step.
In 2025 the project started with the renewal of the camera security. The outdated coax camera system was replaced by network cameras, partly connected via Cat6 cabling and partly via fibre optic cable. At the same time, the number of cameras was scaled up to 50 units, which considerably expanded the coverage of the shopping centre. The centre manager now has a professional camera management system at their disposal, with which the safety of visitors, shopkeepers and property is managed in a central and well-organised way. Next, ICNT Groep delivered fibre internet with speeds of up to 5 Gbps, not only for the shopping centre itself, but also for the individual shopkeepers. Tenants who want to connect can easily arrange this via the fibre page of Winkelcentrum Walburg.
In 2026 came the next step: free wifi for visitors. This allows people visiting Winkelcentrum Walburg to easily stay online while shopping, which contributes to a pleasant and modern shopping experience.
With these three interventions, professional camera security, ultra-fast fibre internet and public wifi, ICNT Groep has equipped Winkelcentrum Walburg with a coherent, future-proof technical foundation. Not as separate projects, but as a continuous partnership in which each step built on what was already in place.
